Habitat for Humanity Middle Keys
Habitat for Humanity of the Middle Keys is a non-profit Christian housing ministry founded on the belief that every man, woman and child deserves a safe, decent and affordable home to call their own. Habitat Middle Keys began in 1991 and is part of a global, nonprofit housing organization operated on Christian principles that seeks to put God's love into action by building homes, communities and hope. We are a volunteer based locally run affiliate dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide. All are welcome and Habitat for Humanity of the Middle Keys has an open-door policy: All who believe that everyone needs a decent, affordable place to live are welcome to help with the work, regardless of race, religion, age, gender, political views, or any of the other distinctions that too often divide people. In short, Habitat welcomes volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds and also serve people in need of decent housing without regard of race or religion. As a matter of policy, Habitat for Humanity International and its affiliated organizations do not proselytize. This means that Habitat will not offer assistance on the expressed or implied condition that people must either adhere to or convert to a particular faith, or listen and respond to a messaging designed to induce conversion to a particular faith. EdPowerment carries out its mission through three grassroots, closely administered and personalized projects: (1) Support for the Kilimahewa Educational Centre that serves local teens and young adults excluded from public & private education; (2) Tomorrow’s Scholar-Leader Sponsorship Program which selects qualified teenagers, who have no resources, to pursue secondary through university or vocational studies in order to secure a career; and (3) ACT (Autism Connects Tanzania), which advocates for the autistic and intellectually disabled ignored by local society, while offering educational workshops and guidance to teachers, social workers, government officials and others who serve this population. In addition, as funding allows, we target assistance to the community at large. In 2014 EdPowerment funded new toilets to allow the Mary Bennett-Sambarai government primary school to keeps its doors open to 700 students. At the same time, we purchased large quantities of texts for a boarding school, attended by some of our sponsored students, to raise the level of learning for all students.

ISRAEL GUIDE DOG CENTER FOR THE BLIND
The mission of the Israel Guide Dog Center for the Blind is to improve the quality of life of visually impaired Israelis by providing them with independence, mobility and self confidence, as well as renewed self-esteem and companionship through the use of guide dogs. What we do: We breed, raise and train the guide dogs at our facility in Beit Oved, Israel, just south of Tel Aviv. When a blind Israeli requests our assistance, we transport them to our center, house and feed them for three weeks during training, and provide an additional week of training in their homes. We also provide follow-up care twice a year to make sure that the partnership is still working properly. This is all done AT NO COST TO THE BLIND! We are able to provide these services through the generosity of our donors – who have the vision to help those less fortunate. Our annual budget is just over $2.7 Million dollars, and as of December 2017, we had produced over 600 partnerships between Israelis who are blind or visually impaired and professionally trained guide dogs. Secondary Mission: In 2013 we added a secondary mission by providing Service Companions to people with Special Needs. While half of our dogs are selected for guide dog training, 50% fail to meet our exacting standards during evaluations, but these amazingly well trained dogs can still help people. In 2013 we formalized a program to repurpose these "career-change" dogs and provide them to blind children, autistic children, soldiers with PTSD or other adults with a variety of special needs. All of the dogs we produce go to loving homes and serve a purpose by helping people in need.

In over 200 communities across 27 states, we work closely with schools, social services, businesses and volunteers to get young people the things they need to learn and grow: after-school help and family services to stabilize the home. Without these basic supports, kids in need or at-risk are far less likely to succeed and grow into productive adults.
